moved to the City

I'm in the process of moving. I've got everything in the new place, but it's mostly still in boxes. The first night was a little rough --no internet, no cable TV, nothing to read-- just me and my aching back. Neither of use was very good company. But the second night I got my Xbox set up and bought another paperback by John Scalzi, so for the next few nights I'm golden.

The new place is in San Francisco, about ten miles from where I lived in Pacifica. No more spectacular ocean views. No more small-town atmosphere. Lots less fog. The main advantage of the move is that I'm closer to work and that I no longer have to say "I live in the San Francisco Bay area", now I can just say "I live in San Francisco", which has less than half as many syllables. I take joy in small things.

I still don't have internet. I'm using a coffee-shop services that is not every reliable. If I don't get impatient, I'll post the answers to the song quiz in the comments to the post.

Since I'm now a San Franciscan, I'm going to have to go out and get my nipples pierced tomorrow. I hope it doesn't hurt.
